Our next project in draping is to create a garment completely on the bias. I decided to make a dress that will pair well with my collection for Thread’s this year. It is strapless slip dress with a off-center front opening and halter straps. Below are photos of my draping process, technical package, muslin mock-up and final garment (currently in progress).
Working with a CAD pattern making program (Lectra: Modaris) made pattern making a breeze after I built my foundation skills in an introduction to pattern making class. Below are photos of my printed out patterns, muslin mock up, and garment for our first project of the class.
Below is access to view my mood board, design process, sketches (fabric choice changed), patterns, photos and much more that went into completing my generation coZy collection for CMU’s 2017 Thread’s Fashion Show: Expedition Fashion.
